My ultimate goal is not to make a name for myself, but to keep the name of the Lord from falling off of the face of this earth by the world. That his name alone may continue to be known, magnified, and exalted. That the world may know that He is Real and Is Risen. I’ve learned that you can be the most successful person in the world, with the mansion on the hill, the riches, and every degree you can name. But if you don’t have Jesus, you don’t have nothing. Because nothing can compare to the love of Christ, and all that he has for those that love him, his children. So no, I don’t want to be successful in the world if Christ isn’t involved. It doesn’t mean that I won’t work my very best, it doesn’t mean I won’t pursue a degree, it doesn’t mean that I can’t start a business, and reach a greater potential. God’s Word alone tells us to work like it totally depends on us, and to believe like it totally depends on God. It’s always been okay to go after a dream, but it’s not okay when we have to leave Jesus out of it to pursue it. I don’t want to make a name for myself. Success is in Him alone. I just want Jesus.
I say this, because I understand that living for Christ when you’re young can bring in many opinions from others. The world today is all about making a name for themselves, being successful, and laying their treasures on the earth. God’s Word tells us to lay our treasures in Heaven. To continue to do all things in the name of the Lord. Don’t get discouraged, don’t listen to those on the land telling you to stop swim, or that you won’t make it, because you will. Remember, that success is in Christ alone, and if you continue to press, fight, and move forward, you will succeed.
“And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” – Colossians 3:17
