Why we can’t survive off of Bread alone.

“But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live off of bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” – Matthew 4:4 KJV

Jesus makes it clear to us that we cannot survive off of bread alone. In Matthew 4:4 shown above, Jesus is telling us that we must also allow the Word of God to feed us. We must hunger for his word and allow ourselves to be fed spiritually each day by simply opening our bibles. How can we have a relationship with our Heavenly Father and not indulge ourselves into his word and truth?

Whenever you have the time, open your bible each day and read into his love. Explore the amazing stories and his amazing truth. Ask God to feed you his word, to give you comfort and understanding. The enemy wants you to believe that you’re too busy for God, he loves seeing a closed bible. Each day, take out an hour to simply read and pray. Spend 15 minutes reading his word, and spend the rest to pray. Pray for your repentance if needed, your partner, your family, friends, enemies, your church, the poor, all of those who suffer around the world, and anyone else you can think of. They need your prayers. You can do this. The first day may feel tough, it’s because your flesh is fighting it. But once you remain consistent, the next days will be a breeze for you. And the most beautiful part of it all is that you will begin to develop a closer relationship with God. So get to know him, you will thank me later.
