About a month ago, I came across an amazing app that I must share with everyone. The app is called Stop, Breathe, and Think. It was created for anyone who wants to learn hands-on techniques to develop and apply kindness in their daily lives, by practicing mindfulness and meditation.
Each day, the app will ask you how you’re feeling mentally and physically, it then allows you to choose your emotions. After you finish, the app chooses a list of meditations for you to practice that fit the needs of how you’re feeling that day. The meditations usually range from about 8-15 minutes, depending on which emotions you chose.
Another list of great things I’d love to point out about this app is that it was created by a non-profit organization. Although they do accept donations, the app is completely free and so are the meditations. Mindfulness and meditation have been proven effective in managing stress, anxiety, and depression. It’s great for learning how to grasp the art of taking a step back and breathing when undergoing stress. SB&T is also implemented in workshops for adults, in addition to classrooms, after-school programs and summer camps for kids and teenagers. While providing a friendly and accessible curriculum. Along with promoting positivity and concrete skill development for young people.
I encourage each and every one of you to give this app a try. It truly is great.
